Nail Surgery
Total Nail Avulsion
where the entire nail is permanently removed, normally performed on deformed nails (onychogryphosis) or severely involuted nails.
Partial Nail Avulsion
where just the offending side or sides are removed, normally performed on ingrowing nails (onychocryptosis) or mildly involuted nails. This technique can provide excellent cosmetic results
Following an initial consultation appointment a surgical appointment is made, this normally is for 1.5 hours, although the procedure rarely lasts more than 20 to 30 minutes, most of the time being taken for pre and post op preparation
Nail surgery is performed under local analgesia, the same type of injection as given by Dentists.
